Jay Allen Brand was born July 16, 1963 in Norfolk Nebraska to Clayton and AnnMarie Brand.  He attended Norfolk Public Schools and graduated in 1981.  He was called to the Lord on January 13, 2013.  His final days were spent with his loved ones surrounding him at the University of Minnesota while waiting for a lung transplant.  Although his life was cut short, he was able to live it to the fullest, savoring and cherishing every moment.  He touched the lives of many through his lifetime and understood the meaning of quality of life.  He loved to fish, cook, spend time with family and friends, and loved his dog dearly.  During his illness, he spent most of his time with his partner for life, Stephanie Brasch Finnigan, watching television and cooking, spending time with his grandkids, and spending time with his dog at his home in Plainview.  Although his body began to give up to the disease, his fighting spirit let him enjoy as much life as he could before peacefully ascending to heaven.  He is survived by his partner in life, his brother Curtis Brand, three daughters; Cindy and husband Chris Pierson, Candace and husband Adam Dowling, and Cary Brand, and four grandchildren, Riley, Collin, and Kadence Pierson and Brysen Dowling.
