NORFOLK - Services for Daniel J. Hochstein, 48, of New Orleans, La., will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church here. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 16 and VFW Post 1644. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Home for Funerals with a wake service at 7 p.m.
He died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at Faith Regional Health Services.

Daniel was born on Dec. 18, 1959, in Norfolk, the son of Jerome and Phyllis (Walz) Hochstein. He graduated from Norfolk High School in 1978 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from April 1978 to August 1982.
He then lived in Norfolk and Sioux City, Iowa, before moving to New Orleans, where he went to work for U.S. Air and becoming an assistant manager until he was forced to stop working due to health reasons.
He is survived by his mother Phyllis Hochstein of Norfolk; one son David Hochstein of New Orleans; his wife Michelle Hochstein of LeMars, Iowa; three brothers, Terry and Leanne Hochstein of Norfolk, Gary Hochstein of Lincoln, Mike Hochstein and Sue Weyhrich of Norfolk; four sisters, Colleen and Mark Montgomery of Kenosha, Wis., Kathy and Al Skrivanek of Stanton, Cindy and Randy Lund of O'Neill, Pam and Randy Sparks of Kenosha, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his father in February 1996.
