David Bidwell

Teddy David Bidwell Sr., age 63, of Blanchard, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sept. 14, 2013, in his home. He was born Sept. 27, 1949, in Henryetta to Fred and Ruby Bidwell. He lived in Norman most of his life. He graduated from Norman High School in 1968. David played football for OU as a right tackle, No. 78, in 1968. He also served two tours in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970, while in the Marine Corps., as a lance corporal. He also served as the Grand Marshall at the Norman Masonic Lodge No. 38 A.F. & A.M. In 1971, he married Sara Gass, of Norman. They resided there just over thirty years until they moved to Blanchard. David was a general contractor and later owned and operated The Porterhouse Café, along with his wife. He attended Grand Assembly of God in Chickasha. David enjoyed spending time with God and reading his Bible. He enjoyed playing card games and he loved drinking coffee with all of his buddies. David is survived by his wife, Sara; daughter, Tammy Lynn Misenheimer and husband Danny and their children, Callie, Danny and Rowdy of Blanchard; son, Ted Bidwell Jr. and wife Keeley and their children, Trey and Audrey of Garner, N.C.; daughter, Sara Jane Speheger and husband Doug and their daughter, Harper of Norman; daughter, Jessi Whitehead and husband Matt and their children, Jack and Lily of Norman; his mother, Ruby Bidwell of Norman; brother, Fred Bidwell Jr. of Moore; and sister, Terri Smith of Norman. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Bidwell Sr. Services were Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Grand Assembly of God in Chickasha. Interment followed at Dibble Cemetery in Dibble. Services were under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel in Moore. Norman Transcript, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013. Published on September 18, 2013
