William R. Childress

William R. Childress, of Norman, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, following a courageous 25-year battle with lymphoma. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Norman. Bill was born in Concord, N.H., on Sept. 12, 1949. He grew up in Norman and graduated from Norman High School in 1967. Bill attended the University of Oklahoma and served in the Oklahoma National Guard. After college, he lived for a while in Nashville, Tenn., and Denver before returning to Norman and establishing Ambidon Tax Service in 1992. Bill was born in Concord, N.H., on Sept. 12, 1949. Childress. He is survived by his mother, Amelia Pietraallo Childress of Norman; his sister, Judith A. Zinsser of Concord, N.H.; and his longtime friend and companion, Anne B. Jones of Norman. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and clients alike. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
