Roberta Thorstenberg Cordes Feb. 24, 1949 - Feb. 8, 2017
BETHANY On the 24th of Feb. 1949, a light named Roberta Ann Thorstenberg entered the world in Norman, OK. This light went eternal Feb. 8, 2017, according to God's Word. She was reunited with her parents, Ralph A. and Dorothy L. Thorstenberg, who preceded her in death. Others who've gone before are her husband, Fredrick Cordes; her sister-in-law, Linda Thorstenberg; as well as many uncles, aunts, and cousins. Roberta was faithful to her beloved 1967 Class of Norman High School and The University of Oklahoma Class of 1971. She never met anyone but a friend and brought a smile to their faces with her unique observations and infectious laugh. She always saw the positive side of everything except the Texas Longhorns. Perfect she wasn't but when realizing her errs, an apology followed, immediately accompanied with tears when warranted. The greatest thrill of her life was the day she was united with her son, Chris Cotner & his wife Angela and their son, Tyler & wife Nikki and daughters, Abigail and Charlotte. Robbie is also survived by brother, Charles A. Thorstenberg; her partner, Mike Lema; nieces, Sunshine Arnold and Autumn Crawford; cousins, Mary Ann Beets, Lisa Thorstenberg, Brien Thorstenberg, Nora Singleton, and Gini Herbert; and many others. Viewing will be Wednesday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. with family present 6-8 p.m. at Mercer-Adams, Bethany. Services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2 p.m. at Council Road Baptist Church with interment in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Norman, OK.
