Noel was a big, friendly, nice friend to grow up around. He was fun to do things with and a great player on the football and baseball teams. He played great defensive and offensive tackle and was always good to run behind. He played first base and was a super fielder and strong hitter. He was left handed so we switched gloves for our senior team picture and it looks pretty funny!
Noel was a terrific friend, of heart and soul. I got to know him through baseball leagues when young, and he could certainly make me laugh. We were very close the last two years of high school, and he came to see me when I was a freshman in college in California. I remember doing my best to talk him out of quitting the baseball team -- It was not particularly a pleasure to play for Hayden Karn, and Noel took that difficulty harder than most, though he could sometimes laugh about it. I miss this guy.
