Douglas Reese Allen, known to most as Reese passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026.
He is survived by his two sons, Joseph Charles and Daniel Reese, his sister Beverly and his very close friend Susan Yu.
He was born June 2, 1954 in New York City. He attended schools in Arizona and Chickasha Oklahoma, and graduated from Norman High in 1972. After high school, Reese attended the University of Oklahoma. He was a proud member of the OU Men's Basketball team for the 1973/1974 season. He obtained his bachelor's degree in political science in 1976 from OU, and his law degree from Oklahoma City University in 1980. After Law School Reese opened a private law practice and spent 45 years serving his clients and community with integrity and compassion.
Reese wore many hats thoughout his life. In 1962 Reese joined Cub Scouts achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. He remained deeply involved in scouting throughout his life proudly serving his son's troup as they also earned their Eagle Scout rank. Reese served as secretary for the Democratic Party of Cleveland County for four years. He was a longtime member of the OKC Rotary Club where he served as president. Reese also dedicated 12 years to the Wesley Foundation board, eventually serving as it's president. A devoted member of the McFarlin United Methodist Church, Reese served as an usher, trustee, Sunday school teacher and served on numerous church committees. He was one of the founding members and board president of Food and Shelter for Friends. Reese was a man of many talents.
Most of all Reese was a devoted father and friend. He found great joy in hiking, backpacking, traveling and cheering his sons on in their athletic pursuits. He also loved cheering on the Sooners in Football, basketball and softball. A testament to his enduring school spirit in forty- nine years he missed only five home football games.
Reese will be missed.
