I will miss my sweet friend Willa Jo.  She struggled with her health for so many years, I like to think of her now healthy and forever young and beautiful!  God bless her and her family.

Just thinking of Willa always made (and makes) me smile. Sad to think of how she suffered, and that she's no longer with us (though in hearts and minds, yes!).

This is sad news. She was always so sweet.

I know how this feels, Canfields- this is the same week I lost my husband Kelly ten years ago today, in fact.

Grief is a pathway and sometimes I stumble,

Remember this Irish proverb:

Do not resent growing old--

Many are not given the privilege.

When I heard of Willa’s death, it immediately made me think not only of how lucky I was to have known her but of how lucky ‘we’ all were to have known all those in our Class who have already gone before her.

There are so many early departed from our Class; it’s evident when you list the “In Memory” alphabetically rather than by year. Looking at the list that way, it becomes clear that Willa is now part of a Class that has transcended time as long as we remember them.

Having not seen so many of my classmates in years, I remember them all, as I do Willa, as they were those last days of our Senior Year. But, no matter how you remember Willa and the other class members who are gone, they will remain with us so long as we keep them in our memories.

Gwenn said it all for me.
