Karon Ward Shalberg died in a car accident on 10/31/95 at the young age of 40. She left behind two children, Brandi and Robbie, and her husband Larry Shalberg.
Karon was a fun loving and caring mother, wife, and friend to all. Her home was always open to anyone who needed a place to go. Karon loved cooking, gardening, and sewing (most of all). She also loved animals very much.
Karon had a very successful business career managing and supporting three family businesses: Karon and Larry ran a successful court reporting business in Norman called Shalberg Court Reporting. Karon and Brandi also ran a new start up dance shoe and clothing business called Twinkle Toes Dance Shoes. Her parents James and Glenda, also of Norman, ran a dance shoe business in Norman called Parti-Time Dance Shoes. Karen often traveled for her parents' business, helping them manage their many committments throughout the U.S.
Karon's children have gone on to live successful lives: Brandi married her highschool sweetheart, Shawn Milligan. They have a three-year-old son, Paxton Ward, and are expecting their second son, Cruz Alexander, due on Karon's birthday (08/08).
Robbie also has two children, Alexander and Karon (named after her grandmother).
