Sara A. Treat

Sara Annette Treat passed from this life on May 3, 2025. She was born on December 9, 1955, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Mary Treat.

Sara’s childhood was filled with joyful escapades shared with her many cousins and family members. There were numerous camping trips, games of badminton, and afternoons spent swimming at state parks—it was all great fun.

She attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated from Texas Tech University. While earning her degree in speech at Texas Tech, she worked in the Texas Tech Library. One of her favorite jobs was at the Department of Tourism at the Oklahoma State Capitol, where she had the opportunity to meet and work with many interesting people. For several years, she worked as a substitute teacher in the Norman and Lubbock, Texas, school systems. Teaching and tutoring students of all personalities was never boring, with each day bringing new challenges.

Oklahoma Sooner football was a lifelong passion. She attended many games in her younger years. Shopping was another love—her visits to malls, antique stores, and garage sales earned her the title of a shopper of the first degree.

Sara was a Christian who worked with Mission Friends in Texas and participated in many Bible studies throughout her life.

She is survived by her sister, Cheryl Treat; several cousins from California, Texas, Florida, Arkansas, and Oklahoma; as well as extended family and many friends.
