It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ricky Dan Williams age 67, on July 12, 2024. A lifelong resident of Norman, OK in death, Rick was surrounded by loving family and friends. Rick was born on August 12, 1956 to parents Tommy T. Williams and Linda L (Evans) Williams, who preceded him in death

Rick retired from Newcastle Casino in 2023 after 16 years of employment. His career also included 20+ years at Homeland/Safeway Stores. He loved playing golf, watching movies at the theater, and checking National Parks off his bucket list with friends and family. His greatest joy in life, though, was being a grandpa.

Rick was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2023 which limited his very active lifestyle. His sister was able to donate stem cells to further combat the disease but unfortunately his complications from treatments were too much for his body to handle.

Rick is survived by two sons, Travis J. Williams and Tristan G. Williams and a grandson Denver G Williams, all of Norman, two sisters Debbie Cox and Darla Williams, both of Norman, and a niece Rachel Cox of Norman, along with many cousins and friends.

Services will be held at First American Methodist Church on July 21, 2024 at 3:00 pm located at 1950 Beaumont, Norman, OK 73071. The family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in lieu of flowers.

The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the medical caregivers at both OU Medical Center and Integris Hospital.
