HURST Randy Joe, 35, of Oklahoma City. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 1992 in the Crown Heights Methodist Church at 37th and N. Western with Rev. Joel Clay officiating. Burial services will follow with Rev. Joe Grizzle officiating in Blackburn Cemetery, Norman, Ok. Randy died Thursday, Jan. 2, 1992 in his home after a long struggle with AIDS. He was born July 4, 1956 to Billie and Wilburn Hurst in Norman, Oklahoma. He had made a career working in the wholesale pet industry for a total of 14 years with Quality Pet being his last employer. He quit there in June, 1990, when he was no longer able to work. He also was quite talented in music, as he loved to play the piano and shared this love with others. Randy was very brave and courageous in his battle with the disease and will remain an inspiration to those who have known him. He was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his significant other of 10 years, J.B. Chenoweth, of the home; his mother, Billie Hurst; one brother, Ron Hurst of Norman; and one sister, Kay Hurst-McCage of Oklahoma City; a niece and nephew; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and very special friend, Dr. Aline Brown, all of whom were of great support.
Jeff Gaughn, Rocky Moody, Bill Rogers, Dan Muse, Larry Payne, and Jim Bateman will act as bearers. Honorary bearers will be Donnie Fleming, Michael Freed, Rod Limke, Roy Brown, Stephen Hardway, John Whittmore, J.B. Schuelein, Beau and Wednesday Night Support Group. The family has suggested the RAIN network or the Names Project as appropriate for expressions of sympathy.
