Twila Colene Swopes (Gray)

Twila Colene Swopes-Gray was born to Thomas Frailey and Lottie (Rowe) Swopes on Nov. 3, 1955, in Vici. On Nov. 8, 2011, Twila went to be with her Lord.

Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church, Norman. Rev. Mike Grubbs will officiate.

She was one of seven children. She attended Norman High School and was married to Mark Edward Gray, her soulmate of 27 years and husband of 10 years. She grew up and lived in the Norman area. 

She leaves behind husband, Mark Gray, and son, Mike Gray, both of Norman; mother, Lottie Swopes of Noble; brothers Jerry Swopes of Missouri and Leon Swopes of Noble; twin sister, Nila Barlow of Norman; sister, Dois Anderson of Noble; several nieces and nephews, two grandchildren, Devon and Danny Gray; and numerous friends.

She served many years as a caretaker of the elderly community and enjoyed spending time with her family and giving back to her community. She had the brightest smile and a heart as big as one could ever imagine. She knew how to put a smile on anyone’s face. She was a beloved daughter, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, wife and friend. She impacted and inspired many. 

Internment will be at Blackburn Cemetery, Norman. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday.

Arrangements are by McMahans Funeral Home, Noble.
