Charles Duane Sendler, 37, of Loris, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009 in Lee Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Children of Duane Sendler Scholarship Fund at Horry County State Bank.

I lost part of me that day. He always cared about me and what I was doing.I think about him every day. I will never come to grips with it, not Duane. I hope to see him again someday and ask him what he wanted to talk about that fateful day, when I was docking a boat and was not able to answer him.Ross Moore
Duane was one of best friends in this world. We grew up together. We played baseball, surfed and duck hunted. My whole life changed that day. Dad or Jay called and I just about ran off of the road when I was told about Duane. The last time I talked to Duane, it was about our chirldren. I didn"t talk to him every day, but if something important came up, he wouid call me. He called when his chirldren were born and I did the same. Duane was truly one of my best friends. I miss him more than words can say. I just wish I could have talked to my buddy. One day I will ,and we'll go on that duck hunt in heaven. Nothing but love my brother.
