Patricia L. “Tricia” Smith of North Ridgeville passed away unexpectedly on her 43rd birthday, March 9, 2010 at University Hospital, Cleveland. She was born in Oberlin, OH and had been a North Ridgeville area resident all her life. She was a 1985 graduate of North Ridgeville High School and graduated “summa cum laude” in 1989 from Baldwin Wallace College, Berea, OH with a BA in English. While in her senior year at BW, she was editor of the college newspaper, “The Exponent”. She was currently employed as Director of Marketing for Absolute Machine Tools in Lorain and had formerly worked as Managing Editor for Penton Media, Inc. Tricia was an avid reader and enjoyed creative writing, shopping, photography, and spending time with family and friends. She traveled the world both for business and pleasure. She was also primary caregiver for her father. Survivors include her mother, Mildred “Mille” Smith and her father, Vernon L. “Pat” Smith both of North Ridgeville, 4 brothers, Bruce (Jackie) Marian and Keith (Deborah) Marian, both of Riverside, CA, Craig (Maureen) Marian of Corona, CA and Patrick Smith of Elyria and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 5-8 P.M. Friday, March 12, 2010 in the David Bogner Family Funeral Home 36625 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 A.M. Saturday, March 13, 2010. Thomas J. Grasson will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Patricia’s name are suggested to Baldwin Wallace College Advancement Services 275 Eastland Rd., Berea, OH 44017 or to the American Red Cross Local Disaster Relief Lorain County Chapter 2929 West River Rd., Elyria, OH 44035.
