John W. Danielson, 54, a teacher, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at a Hospice House in Burleson.
Memorial service: 4 p.m. Tuesday at Grace Presbyterian Church, 5500 Mansfield Road in Arlington. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Arlington Funeral Home in Arlington.

John was born Nov. 6, 1947 in W.Va. He earned a Masters Degree in education at Kent University in Ohio. He came to Arlington in 1983. His first teaching job here was at Young Junior High. He finished his career teaching economics and government to advanced students at Martin and Grandview High Schools. John was an avid runner and ran in several marathons, including the prestigious Boston Marathon in 1989. Sadly, John spent the last two years of his life valiantly fighting his battle with cancer.
Survivors: Wife, Annette Danielson; daughters, Colleen, Michelle, and Heather; in-laws, Grethe and Palle Seebach; sister and brother-in-law, Marianne and Jim Burke; mother, Millie Kaestel and husband, Werner, of Alabama; sister, Tammy Perdue and husband, Lee; and nephews, Matt and Jeff.
