NORTH TONAWANDA — Steven A. Hobbs, age 52, of North Tonawanda, unexpectedly, August 7, 2012 in Veterans Administration Medical Center. Steven was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Rescue Fire Co. #5. He loved animals and especially his two dogs.

He was the son of the late Richard and Patricia (Jones) Hobbs. Beloved brother of Laurean (late Steve) Hellmers of Rockford, MI, Michael (Kathy) Hobbs of North Tonawanda and Tricia (Alan) Durham of North Carolina. Dear friend of John Turcott of Amherst. Uncle of Samantha and Zachary Hobbs, Ashley and Christine Hellmers, Jordan and Alison Durham.

Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver Street at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Sunday from 7-9 PM and on Monday from 1-2 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 2 PM. The Rev. Katherine Gahagen will officiate.

Interment will be in White Chapel Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to VA Medical Center or the SPCA.
