Ron passed away on October 16,1997 after battling lung cancer.

His obituary read: "RUSSELL, Ronald Graham -- Peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital on October 16, 1997. Ronald Graham Russell, born March 23, 1945. He is deeply loved and will be eternally missed by his son Jonathan Paul and his daughter Julie Ann. Also loved and missed by Betty, his wife for 24 years. Survived by his brothers Robert and David John. Closed service will be held at the Chapel of Skinner & Middlebrook Ltd. in Port Credit. Donations to the Credit Valley Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated."
