Tim Murphy grew up on my street, Louisa Court, in Northport, NY. His family was one of the originals in the new development in the 1950's along with mine, the Rienths, the McDermotts, Deiches, Casertas, and the Stanjoneses who all had children in the Class of 1970. Although I didn't have much to do with the boys on the street, I always thought of Tim as friendly and someone who got along well with the other kids He was fun-loving and mischievous! He came from a large family and his sister Colleen was best friends with my sister Pam. After I graduated from high school I came home from college during summer break and with a college chum who also was from Long Island went to eat at Robke's Country Inn on 25A. Much to my surprise, Tim was manning the bar! I introduced him to my friend, we had a nice conversation with him and little did I know that night what would come of that meeting. My friend and Tim ended up together and dated for some time thereafter. Although they eventually split up, she has never forgotten Tim and holds a special place for him and his family in her heart. I know that Tim attended college at SUNY Cortland. I lost track of him after that and don't know what happened to him except that he left us much too young. He was always nice to me. I just read his sweet comments in my high school year book and it brings me back to the carefree days of growing up with the Louisa Court gang of kids! Wonderful memories! Rest in peace, Timmy!...elaine benjamin
