These are the words that best describe my brother Donn. Donn had his struggles over the last 15 years but these qualities always surfaced. Loving Warm Heart, Big Hugs .When mom left us I said how much I would miss her hugs. One day Donn hugged me and I told him how much he reminded me of Mom and he just hugged me harder and longer. Gentle Wonderful sense of humour .Quietly Donn would sit in the back ground making anyone close to him chuckle. Sensitive, Caring. Always thinking how he could help others like an old gentleman who lived nearby named Otto. Thoughtful, Strong . Arranging and looking after important decisions to the very end. Witty Supportive . When his beautiful daughters needed him he was there for them. Generous, Creative. Donn sat for several hours one day at Camp David watching Howard clean out the eaves troughs, thinking, thinking, slowly he walked away into the bush and returned with a long branch with a hooked end and asked would this help. Howie commented that maybe next time he could give his great ideas at the beginning of the work instead of the end. Intelligent, Inventive . Donn designed and built his own canoe that was a remarkable design. By putting a recumbent bicycle in the hull so you could paddle with your feet and left your hands free to fish. Honest, Proud . Donn was very proud of his daughters and how well they have grown up. And most of all, Courageous. When I saw him Thursday night he couldn’t speak, I kissed him goodbye and told him I loved him, he slowly raised his hand to his mouth and tried to blow me a kiss, it was like he was saying goodbye and everything would be alright. And everything is alright. He gave me a gift I will never forget.
