Richard was a very dear friend of mine in High School.  He was so amazingly intelligent and I always admired that about him.  We had many great debates about a lot of things.  I still have a book of poetry he gave me, and I treasure it.

Richard and I were in the same class from Grades 1 through 10 and then my family moved to Windsor.  Richard, Joyce Cunningham and I were all working on our Gr 8 paino and Gr 11 Theory and our teacher was Miss Bailey who lived at Burgessville.  I bet a lot of you of remember her?  We all passed and it was it ever a lot of work.  Richard was smart about so many things.   His mind loved to explore so many areas.  Ricahrds life was hard and I remember the time in Gr 1 when his Mother passed away when we were in Gr 1 and how sad I was for him that he didn't have a Mother anymore.  Our teacher, Miss Clement gave him a lot of special care.   You will always be remembered     God Bless.    Heather Pettigrew Chernecki

OH my Richard, i find you only to lose you.  i only just saw this.  in my storage back home i still have a little ring you gave me in memory of the play we did together at NDHS, Miss Twiddle and the Devil.  You were a lovely young man and i was glad to know you.  i have lost contact with you these many years.  thank you christine and heather for your posts.  i remember that piano study with miss bailey so long ago.  i now can:t play the piano anymore and honestly only needed it to circumvent the maths requirement at university in those days... but it is a good memory of the 3 of us.  i didn:t know you lost your mother in grade one.  i wish i could have given you even more attention had i known.  must have been so hard.  Love to you Richard from me and all of us.
