6-15-08 I just learned last night that Tom Carr died suddenly of what seemed to be a cardiac arrest. We just spent the weekend with his family in April. He was very much looking forward to the 30 year reunion. Tom was someone you could count on and he will very much be missed.

Tom was one of my best lifelong friends and I will miss him tremendously. He loved his family and friends and was full of life and optimism all the time. Tom will always live on in my memories. I am still having trouble dealing with the thought of Tom being gone. We were good friends ever since the Jr. High Days. He was one of the nicest, funniest, and greatest guys I will ever know. My heartfelt sympathies go to his family. I'll miss you forever Tom.
Tom Carr, age 48 of Enumclaw, was taken from us suddenly on Saturday, June 14 while visiting family members in Bothell. Tom was a passionate man who valued relationships above all else. He lived life at full speed. A sudden massive heart attack ended his life the way he said he wanted to go: fast and final.
Thomas Arthur Carr was born in Rota, Spain, to John and Anne Carr. He grew up in Oak Harbor, attended Western and lived in Bellingham for several years before moving to South King County. Eventually he settled in 1998 with his wife and children in Enumclaw on a beautiful piece of land that he loved. Tom was employed as a master mechanic for over 15 years by Bowen Scarff Ford in Kent. As an adventure seeker all his life, Tom was an accomplished sky diver, a climber who reached the summits of Mt. Baker, Mt. Rainier, Mt. St Helens and Mt. Adams, a scuba diver, a motorcyclist, and a softball player. He enjoyed travel, boating, touring wineries, bird-watching, golf, and was an avid reader of good fiction. He loved traditions, and was devoted to family gathering at holidays, the yearly motorcycle tour with his dad and brother and annual camping trips with dear friends. Tom is remembered as a great story-teller who laughed deeply, and as an intelligent and opinionated man who was fiercely loyal to friends and family. Tom’s easy smile, quick wit and twinkling blue eyes will be greatly missed.
He is survived by a loving community of family and friends including his wife Jenifer, daughter Jessica and son John, his parents Anne Buckley of Bellingham and John and Judy Carr of Port Charlotte, Florida, his brother Tim Carr and his family of Mill Creek, his sister Linda Carr and her family of SeaTac, his step brothers Mike, Danny, Tim and their families, his in-laws Judy Willingham of Issaquah and Don and Elva Willingham of Spokane, his brothers-in-law Marc, Dodd, Andre, Frank, Eric and their families and many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to family, Tom leaves a heart-broken community of close friends, many of whom he has had since high school, as well as his “buddies”, John, Scott, Mike and Mac.
A memorial service was held Sunday, June 22nd. The best way to commemorate Tom’s life is to become an organ and tissue donor. A fund has been established at Mt. Rainier Bank, Enumclaw Branch (Columbia Bank) for Tom's children, Jess and John, account number 1101216435. Please refer to the Tom Carr Memorial Fund.

Does anyone remember at one of the pep rallies in our sophomore year Tom sat on a block of ice for a long period of time? However, what was he to accomplish?
I got to talk to Tom at the 25th year reunion. Such a lovely person, funny, smart, and kind. He dated my then best friend, Cheryl Hall, in '76 I think it was. Somewhere in one of my photo albums, I have a photo of them, taken at one of the dances. My most heartfelt condolences go out to his family.
Tom loved life! Loved his family. More than anything he loved spending time with his friends. Tom stayed very close to Scott Hopper, Mike Jordan, and Cullen after high school. What great friends! Tom collected a lot of other close friends thoughout his life.
He loved seeing his old classmate! He always spoke of the great times he had visiting old friends at past reunions. I know he was looking forward to his 30th!
Tom was very adventurous, he liked climbing, he liked motorcyles (we went on these yearly annual treks with our Dad), he loved wine tours, he loved parties. He lived a lot!
The day before he passed we were brewing beer together in Edmonds with our Dad, we had a great dinner and a late night of laughter and horseplay. I purposely gave him wrong directions out of Edmonds and he bit! The next day we were celebrating my daughters graduation, barbequeing, sitting in the sun. We hugged as he left and he passed within the hour. Wow.
He was an incredible friend and a great brother! I miss him every day.
