On August 9, Patti left us very suddenly as a result of a heart attack. She passed away at Whidbey General Hospital. She was only 36 years old. Patti was born on May 8, 1970 in Toms River, New Jersey to Mike Casey and Donna Weiss. She came to the Oak Harbor area when she was very young. She loved the Island area and the feel of this cozy small town. She went to school through the Oak Harbor School District. She wrote for local newspapers all through high school. Her dream was to have her own book published one day. She wanted the title to be September Rain. Patto'ss greatest achievement of all is her children. She loved her children so much. She was unselfish enough to give her first born son to a terrific and loving family. A few years later she met Clyde McDade, married him and had two beautiful sons: Brandon and Desmond. From a later relationship she was blessed with her youngest and sweetest daughter, Stephanie. All four of her children were the light of her life. Patti loved being with her friends and family. She had an infectious smile and a wild sense of humor. She lived each day as if it were her last. Patti is survived by her four children, her sister Joanna Barrett of Priest River, Idaho, her father Mike Casey, her mother Donna Weiss, grandmother Gladys Kirkpatrick, Uncle Tom Montgomery of Anacortes and many nieces, nephews, along with many other family and countless friends too. Patti loved the simple things in life. Sometimes our greatest pleasures in life come from the simple things. Lets all try to remember this and make a difference for Patti. We will meet again at the end of the rainbow. We will see you in the stars at night and in our hearts and dreams. Lets all make a difference in the life of a child – just as Patti did. Memorial services were held at Fort Casey on Saturday, August 12 to celebrate her sweet life. Arrangements under the direction of Burley Funeral Chapel.
