 1952-2010

Gone far too soon...

 

ANTHONY LEE AUSTIN (Age 57) Passed away July 29, 2010, from a traffic accident. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Rosemary Austin; four beautiful children, Adam, Angela, Amber, and Ashley Austin. He is also survived by his mother Martha Austin; four sisters, Gloria, Shirley, Donna, Constance, and one brother Barry Austin. He is preceded in death by two brothers John and Robert Austin, and one sister Vanessa Austin. "Tony" brought over 30 years of experience to the community economic development field. He worked as a curriculum manager for Neighbor Works America. He also assisted in the creation of over 800 units of housing and developed over 25 community based organizations. Tony was an active member of Reid Temple AME Church where he served over the parking ministry. Tony was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, and son who loved God and life. He touched everyone who knew him, and his infectious smile was unforgettable. Please join us in his homegoing service on Friday August 6, 2010. William Joy

Tony was a gentleman. I remember playing basketball on the team together and often we would share rides home after practice. He was a caring gentle person but with inner strength.
