Laura was my housemate senior year, along with Cathy and Shonti. We lived in a house on West College Street (now torn down) across from Pyle Co-Op (now torn down). I cannot remember how or when Laura and I met, but I immediately liked her direct gaze, her laughter, her honesty, and welcoming smile. I went to visit Laura in Bethesda, MD the summer of 1972, and we enjoyed some time together outside of DC. Laura always had a dream of visiting Geel, Belgium to observe their radical approach to psychiatric care, and replicating it here. I'll never forget Laura's infectious laugh! I am grateful to Laura for her friendship. She made the world a better place by being in it, by listening to and embracing others.
