Russell Alan Boyd, 51, of Biloxi, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in Gulfport.

Russell was a Registered Nurse at Gulfport Memorial Hospital on 3CD. He was a member of Cedar Lake Christian Assembly and attended Life Church in Gulfport. He was a avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer that will be best remembered as having a wonderful sense of humor, being quick witted and having a deep love for his Lord.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lydia Boyd and his sister Mary Ellen Boyd Ratcliff.

Russell is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sherry Boyd; three children, Jamie Boyd, Christian Holliman, and Corey Holliman ; brothers, Robert (Linda) Boyd; Michael (Jerri) Boyd: sisters Linda (Curtis) Terry, all of Ocean Springs and Jeanette (David) Smith of Baxley, GA; brothers-in law, David Melton of Gulfport, and Christopher (Marc) Melton of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters-in law, Donna (Bill) Brooks of Waco, Texas and Bridgett (Bret) Sylvia of California, Maryland; grandchildren, Olivia Wiggins, Mason Willis and Layken Bailey and his furry companion, Gracie. 

Russell will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews that have so many wonderful memories of him.

The family would like to express special gratitude to Dr. Hightower, Southern Care Hospice, Gulfport Memorial, the Oncology Nurses, and all the caring Doctors and Nurses that gave Russell exceptional care.

A celebration of life service will be held from 6-10 pm, Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Dedeaux-Orange Grove Community Center, 14416 Dedeaux Road, Gulfport, Mississippi 39503. Southern Mississippi Funeral Services served the Boyd family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gulf Coast Rescue Mission for Women, 2750 Mission Lane, Biloxi, Mississippi 39531.
