Sue Ann Brumble Daniel

Sue Ann Brumble was born on Oct. 23, 1940, to the union of Wayne Thomas Brumble and Margaret Jane Hensley in Tulsa, Okla., where she spent her early childhood days in the community of Dawson, then a suburb of Tulsa, Okla. During the war, her dad worked in the shipyards in San Diego, painting ships for the Navy. After the war, the family moved back to Tulsa and in 1950 her family moved to Odessa. It was in Odessa as a child she was led to her savior by her Sunday school teacher at Belmont Baptist Church where she was baptized.

Sue attended schools in Odessa and was a graduate of Odessa High School in May of 1958.

She was employed as a secretary in an engineering firm and in December on the twelfth of never she was joined in marriage to Donald Daniel. To this union were born her three children Craig, Lori and Clint.

During the seventies, after her children were all in school, she studied for and passed her test for a real estate sales license.

She continued her studies and passed the test to become a real estate broker. Her husband Don was employed at Miether Machine Works during this time.

Sue was also a member of the Odessa Bible Church where her children all learned to love the savior she so loved.

In February of 1980 her husband, then employed with Ingersoll-Rand, was transferred to a facility in Okmulgee, Okla. During this time she made their house in Jenks, Okla., a quiet and joyous refuge to her extended family, many of whom lived in Jenks, a suburb of Tulsa. She obtained her Oklahoma real estate sales license and worked for a time selling real estate in Jenks and Tulsa. She was also employed at C.R. Anthony’s in Jenks. She and her family were also members of First Baptist Church of Jenks.

In 1980 the family returned to West Texas where her husband was employed as the manager of the Dresser-Rand Repair Center of Midland.

They made their home in Midland on Elma Drive. Sue was a member of Northwestern Baptist Church where she was an active member of women on mission, a volunteer at the Midland Baptist Crisis Center, a Sunday school teacher and finally a member of the Fellowship Bible Class and a member of the choir. She was a staunch supporter of Texans United for Life. She was the arms that encircled and gathered together her family during holidays.

She is survived by her husband of forty years and her three children, Dr. Craig Daniel and his wife Betsy of Odessa; her daughter Lori and husband Kent McLain of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; and Clint Daniel and his wife Marcia of San Angelo; seven wonderful grandchildren, Joshua, Christy and Michael Daniel of Odessa; Chase and Lacey McLain of Ohio; and Caleb and Ethan Daniel of San Angelo; her mother and father, Margaret and Wayne Brumble of Midland; her brother, Ron Brumble and wife Linda of Austin; her sister, Janice and husband Tom Valentine of Denver; numerous nieces and nephews and a bevy of beloved cousins.

She passed from this life into the arms of her savior on May 18, 1999, after a valiant fight against cancer. She is gone from our lives yet she abides in our hearts forever.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Northwestern Baptist Church with the Rev. James Aldridge officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorials to the Women on Mission at Northwestern Baptist Church, the Church Library or Home Hospice of Midland/Odessa.
