Thomas Otis Moore

Judge Thomas Otis Moore Jr., 65, lost his battle to a lengthy illness on June 16,2004.

Otis was born January 16, 1939, in Livingston, Texas, and moved to Odessa in 1940.  He graduated from Odessa High School in 1958, earned his bachelor's degree from Sul Ross in 1962, and received his Juris Doctorate from Baylor University School of Law in 1967.

He returned to Odessa after completing law school to work as an associate in a local law firm until he was elected to Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 in 1970.  In 1973, he was appointed as Municipal Court Judge in Odessa where he served through 1999.

Judge Moore was a member of the First Baptist Church Odessa since his marriage to his beloved wife Pat Laird Moore on December 21, 1958.  They have three grown children.
