ODESSA Harold Everett Busby Jr., 68, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009, in Odessa.

He was born July 26, 1940 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Harold and Leona Busby. He grew up in Odessa, and graduated from Odessa High School in 1958. He was Honorably discharged from the US Army after serving three years in the military police. He retired from Champion Technologies in Odessa after working for them for 30 years. During his 30-year career he rarely missed a workday so that he could provide for his family. As a younger man, Harold enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and hunting.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ashley Marie McDonald; his son-in-law, Daniel Dean Conn; sister, Lynn Lee Ferguson; and his parents, Harold and Leona Busby.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Conn of Odessa; son, Harold Busby III of Odessa; brother-in-law I.V. Ferguson of Irving, Texas; niece Laurie Ferguson of Irving, Texas; and grandchildren, Lucas and Michelle Conn of Odessa.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1415 Grandview, with Larry Hood officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
