In Memory

Clara Krapf (OHS Attendance Clerk)

Clara Thedora Knox (1919-2009)

ODESSA Clara Thedora Knox was freed of the confines of her earthly body on August 15, 2009.

She has gone to spend eternity dancing in heaven with the Lord who she loved dearly.

Clara was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on March 27, 1919, to James Samuel Dishman and Elsie Lowe Dishman. She grew up and attended school in Desdemona, Texas. She married Urban Krapf and bore three children, Doyle Eugene 'Gene' Krapf, Joseph Wayne 'Joe' Krapf and Barbara Carol Krapf. She was a warm, caring sweet mother who worked hard to help support her children. Clara was the attendance clerk at Odessa High School from 1949 until 1976; if you went to OHS during that time she knew who you were and your school attendance patterns.

Her husband Urban died in 1961.

In 1962, Clara married the love of her life R.L. Knox. They enjoyed a happy life together until his death in 1979.
Clara lived a life of service to others, she volunteered at Medical Center Hospital and at the Senior Citizen Center where she was loved for her sweet personality and kindness to everyone she met. Clara loved the Lord and up until near her death still memorized a new scripture every week. She attended Bible Freewill Baptist Church where she has many dear friends who even after she was unable to attend church services due to health reasons would visit on Sunday afternoons and keep her informed of church news and sermon notes for the day.

Clara was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother and a friend to all. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Clara is preceded in death by husband R.L. Knox, son Eugene 'Gene' Krapf, three sisters and four brothers.

Clara has left a legacy of love and kindness to two remaining children Joe Krapf and wife Shorti of Colorado City and Barbara Krapf Truesdell and husband Jim Truesdell of Jakarta, Indonesia. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grand-children.

A memorial service to celebrate Clara's glorious life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel, 4635 Oakwood Drive, Odessa, TX with Pastor Jimmy S. Dickinson II officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Home Hospice and its staff. Words seem weak and inadequate to express our gratitude for your kindness, gentleness and compassion during Clara's passion so in lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to be made to Home Hospice, 516 N. Texas Ave. Odessa, TX. 79761.

Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
