Roger Olen Miles passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018. We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 6 to 8 PM, Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life of 77 years on Thursday, May 10, 2018, 10:30 AM at Lake Ridge Chapel. Roger was born February 26, 1941 to Ray and Neola Stroope Miles in Bonnerdale, AR. Roger and his family moved to West Texas, where he graduated from Odessa High School in 1959. He attended Texas Western College on a football scholarship and graduated with a degree in Business. Upon graduation, he started a lifelong career in the Insurance and Financial Services industry.

Roger married the love of his life, Kathy Miles, August 3, 1963 in Farmington, N.M. They shared a beautiful life for 54 years together. Roger and Kathy made their home in El Paso, TX, where Roger began a successful career in the Insurance and Financial Services industry. Roger was voted Rookie of the Year his first year in the business and went on to hold a 20-year membership of the Million Dollar Round Table. In 1968, they moved to Lubbock, TX, where Roger established his own business, Miles Financial Services. His son, Matt Miles, joined him as a partner in 1996, and will continue Roger’s legacy in the business.

Roger lived life to the fullest, enjoying being an avid golfer, traveling and spending time with his family. Roger was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. Roger was also known for being a loyal and committed friend to many people. He will be greatly missed.

Roger is survived by his wife, Kathy Miles; daughter, Kelly Miles; son and daughter in law, Matt and Dina Miles; precious and light of his life, granddaughter, Reese Miles; sister and brother-in-law, Sam and Rhonda Gray; nieces, Rebecca and Sam Rodriguez and daughter, Ava, and Rachael and Collin Smith.

Roger was predeceased in life by his father and mother, Ray and Neola Miles.
