Jose 'Joe' Aguirre

Jose Aguirre, 44, of Odessa passed away at Medical Center Hospital. He was born August 29, 1963, in Odessa, to Jesus Rolando and Maria (Dominguez) Aguirre. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1981. He attended Texas A & M and graduated from Odessa College in 1987. He married Martha Ayala on December 28, 1991, in El Paso. He was a computer draftsman and did contract drafting for Johnny Vuelvas. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He was an active member in his church and was a loyal servant and ready to help with any project.

Jose was an avid runner and loved running marathons. He finished the Trans Mountain Marathon twice, ran and finished the Capitol 10,000 twice and also ran the Prude Ranch Marathon several times. He inspired many children to do their best in track and in academics. He enjoyed misting the kids after racing on field days. He also cheered on many kids at soccer, basketball, volleyball games and cross country meets.

He lovingly supported and encouraged his children in every aspect of their lives, especially in their education. He was always helping on band and orchestra trips. Jose was an exceptional and loving father, wonderful husband, loyal son, terrific brother and trustworthy friend. He touched many people's lives and will never be forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Edward Aguirre and his sister, Rosemary Aguirre.

Jose is survived by his wife, Martha Aguirre of Odessa; daughters, Marina Aguirre, Mikaela Aguirre; sons, Joshua and Josiah Aguirre, all of Odessa; his parents, Jesus and Maria Aguirre of Odessa, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gonzalo and Consuelo Ayala of El Paso, grandmother, Maria Luisa Hernandez of Odessa; sister, Elizabeth Chavarria and husband, Jeremy of San Antonio and their son, Jeremiah. Jose is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and other family members who loved him very much.

There will be a Rosary at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2008.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with Father Mark Woodruff officiating at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Los Angeles Cemetery in Odessa.
