William “Bill” Callendar, 61, of Doc Holliday Court, Carlsbad, NM, passed away December 18, 2021 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 31, 2021, at 1:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mike Bingham officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Bill was born September 10, 1960 in Ontario, California to Wayne and Alice (Cook) Callendar. He graduated from Permian High School in Odessa, Texas in 1979. After moving to Carlsbad, Bill worked for Phil Carrell Chevrolet a number of years. He married Tina Wigley June 16, 2001 here in Carlsbad. Bill most recently worked for Cimarex as a production foreman. He loved cooking and barbequing for his family. Bill enjoyed camping and spoiling his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Deborah Perry.
Survivors are his wife, Tina Callendar; son, Billy Callendar; brother, Curtis Callendar; brother-in-law, Russell Perry; father and mother-in-law, James and Estell Wigley; sister-in-law, Tammy Riggs and husband, Joe and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
