Lora Lea Hurley

July 25, 1961 –December 30, 2021

Lora Lea Hurley, age 60, was born in Odessa to the late Billy and Betty Hurley and peacefully passed away, surrounded by family and friends at her home in Austin, following a hard-fought battle against metastatic breast cancer.

Lora graduated from Permian High School and attended Odessa College and Texas A&M.

Lora was equal parts grit and grace. She was vibrant, caring, blatantly positive, fiercely determined, joyous and fun-loving. She loved time spent with her great nephew and niece, plenty of queso, ice cream, golf and travel with friends.

Her influence outlives Lora given that her life's work and passion has been helping educators teach and students to learn by bringing schools and virtual classrooms innovative technologies. After work stints at Apple and Johnson Controls, Lora joined iCEV, where she thrived as Director of Business Development. Her colleagues describe her as a visionary difference-maker, a vital and whip-smart strategic leader and a caring mentor.

Lora is survived by her sister Carolyn Morris (Randy) of Odessa, brother Alan Hurley of Odessa, nephew Leslie Morris (Katie) of Tomball, niece Jennifer Morris of Odessa, and great nephew and niece Colton Morris and Brooklyn Morris.

Memorial gifts in Lora's name may be directed to: St. John's United Methodist Church at stjohnsaustin.org and/or
