Mark Olesh and I lived down the street from each other since when we were in the 2nd grade. He went to Ross and I went to Goliad. Our street was the borderline. Dawne Alexander and Laurie Mosshart were on the same side as Mark.
I remember that we all used to play hide and go seek every night in the summer, with my house as the base. The only street light on our block was across from my house. James McCullough, Lisa and Curtis Ward and I lived on the Goliad side. We had so much fun. I was really close to Mark's sister, Linda.
Mark just happened to marry my best friend, Susan Dempsey and they had a little girl named Brooke. I couldn't believe that she married someone from my block. Mark was a good guy and I think of him a lot, especially since I live on that block again.
I know you are missed, Mark. Rest in peace and I love you!

Mark had a cancerous brain tumor, but died from complications from pheumonia on his way back to Austin from visiting his daughter in Odessa.
