William Ellis "Bill" Brooks

William Ellis Brooks III "Billy," passed away Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Hospice Houses in Odessa.

Billy was born on March 7, 1947 in Odessa, Texas to Dorothy and Bill Brooks.  He graduated from Odessa High School in 1965 and continued his education at SMU and Texas Tech.

Billy loved his family, his son, Todd Brooks and his freinds.  He also loved his dogs, Geronimo Henry I and Henry II.  They were always his loyal and unconditional companions. 

Billy endured one sickness after another, but he fought hard and was always hoping to feel better teh next day to do the many things he enjoyed.  he loved cooking, horseback riding, shooting his guns and dancing and sports.  He always loved and welcomeed visits from this family and friends.

Our sweet dad, son, brother, grandpa Bill, "Sneaky-snake", "Billy boy" you will be missed so much but our hearts are comforted to know you will no longer be in pain. 

Dad reminded us just before his death John 14:6, "I am the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me."  So we know without a doubt he is in God's healing hands.  

Billy is preceded in death by his father, Bill Brooks.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Brooks; son, Todd Brooks an wife Keri; brother, Mike Brooks and his wife Wanda; sister, Debbie Clyburn and her husband Wes; grandpa Bills grandchiildren, Baylee and Braydon Brooks, dand Dillon Digby; nieces and nephews, and many life long friends. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Hospice House, Odessa Human Society or Crossroads Fellowship Youth Department.

A mermorial service for Billy will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the Crossroads Fellowship Chapel with Griff Jones officiating. 

Funeral arrangements are under direction of Sunset Funeral Home.
