Rick Hodges was born in Moodys, Oklahoma on November 9, 1946. At the age of ten, his family relocated to Odessa, Texas. Rick attended Odessa High School where he played drums in the band and performed well academically. He graduated from OHS as an Honors student in 1965. In the early 1970s, Rick returned to Odessa where he married and had a daughter. He worked as an oil field diesel mechanic until his retirement.

His family and friends will remember him as a hardworking, intelligent man. He enjoyed reading, learning, discussing current events, and spending time with family. He always put his familys needs first. He was a loving, affectionate father and grandfather.
