Robert Alan Wooten

SIERRA VISTA Robert Alan Wooten, 64, of Sierra Vista, AZ passed away suddenly on Thursday, April 7, 2011 in Santa Barbara, CA.

Robert was born on Tuesday, December 17, 1946 in Odessa, TX to the late Dudley and Zelma Wooten. He was raised and educated in Odessa and graduated from Odessa High School in 1965.

He proudly served with the Army and was a veteran of Vietnam. During his distinguished career he received many awards. After retiring from the Army at the rank of Sgt First Class he became a civil service contractor.

Robert married Min Ah Yi in 1982 in North Carolina. Robert enjoyed reading, watching sports and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.


Robert is survived by his wife Min-Ah Yi of Sierra Vista, his two children Derek S. Wooten and his wife Stephanie of Odessa, TX and Honey B. Jackson and her husband Kelvin of Gardendale, TX. He was the proud grandfather to Anjanettte Hantz and her husband Clay of Arlington, TX; Sean Manser, Erik and Emma Jackson all of Gardendale, TX. Other survivors include his brothers Bill and Jim Wooten. He is preceded in death not only by his parents, but by his other brothers Tom, Curt, Terry and Nicky Wooten.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011 in the Chapel of Hatfield Funeral Home, 830 S. Hwy 92 , Sierra Vista, AZ (520) 458-5120, at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at the Southern Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Sierra Vista, AZ with military honors.
