Terry was the second member of the Class of 1965 to pass away. He had been suffering from headaches since he first started OHS. He had attended Texas Tech his first year after high school, but his illness continued and he transferred back to Odessa College. On August 20, 1967, he was driving near his home when he lost consciousness and struck a tree. He was hospitalized at Odessa Medical Center in ICU until September 6, 1967 when he experienced a brain hemorragh and passed away. He was laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Garden's Cemetery in Odessa. Terry was a brilliant young man and really had a future.
Born in Odessa to Wanda Holland and Neal Utsinger. He attended San Jacinto Elementary, Bowie Junior High School and Odessa High School. He was a 1965 graduate. During his years at Odessa High School, he was the editor of the high school newspaper and was on the annual staff. He was an honor roll student. He had received the West Texas Area Journalism Scholarship Award.
After high school, he began to experience headaches and was diagnosed with malformation of blood vessels in his brain. He was not able to follow his dream of attending college at Texas Tech, he, however enrolled at Odessa College and had completed his two years when he experienced a hemorridge and passed away.
He was survived by his parents, his younger sister, Jill and younger brother, Kelly of the home.
