I had known Jean since my Goldsmith days in the early 50's.  She had been adopted and raised by her aunt and uncle Ed and Delia (Hodges) Howell.  We were in the first and second grade together.  Her dad and older brother owned and operated the Exxon Station in Goldsmith and my grandfather owned and operated the Gulf Service Station.  After Goldsmith, she attended Crockett and then OHS.  She married our junior year.  I had recently found out about her death, when a friend's sister told me that she had passed away in Temple, Texas.  I got on line and verified it.   I remember she was in high school when she found out about her adoption.  She had been a good friend.

Billy Mac, I knew her as Gloria Jean Howell.  She would talk about her birth dad and relatives. Sure appreciate your information about her.  I didn't keep up with her after our days at OHS.  We visited each other a lot during our grade school years.

Have a Merry Christmas!!!!

I used to play with Gloria Jean in Goldsmith. We loved to play together. She was Gloria Jean and I was Gloria Jane.  So sorry to hear of her death, she was a neat lady! RIP

Jean was a fun person in school.  She was so friendly and happy.  I sure she was an awesome wife and parent. She will be missed.
