Hampton Eugene Fox

Hampton Eugene Fox died at home. He was 76 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Hampton Fox and Florine Mildred Fox. Hampton is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dena Lee Yen Fox, and their son, Hampton Quinton Fox, daughter-in-law, Lori Ann Fox, and their two children, Charlie Hampton Fox and Emma Rose Fox. He is also survived by his sister, Stephanie Fox Yoder and her daughter Robin Rene Yoder and wife, Pam Mae Kear and their two sons, Benjamin Yoder-Kear and Mykel Yoder-Kear, and, cousins and many friends.

Hampton was born in Oklahoma City, OK, and his family moved to Texas shortly thereafter. He attended Odessa High School in Odessa. He graduated from University of Texas, Austin TX in 1978 with Bachelor of Business Administration. Hampton enlisted in the US Navy in 1965 serving as Communications Technician CTO2 assigned to the National Security Agency, Fort Meade MD. While stationed at the NSA he met the love of his life, Dena and married in 1970.

After discharge, he moved his family to Austin, TX and served as Finger Print Technician at the Department of Public Safety. He began his 38-year career at the Veterans Administration starting as Vet Rep on Campus at the Texas A&M University in College Station for 2 years. He then transferred to the Veterans Administration, Education Division in the VA Regional Office in Waco, TX as Education Specialist, then later as Education Specialist Supervisor. He retired in 2008.

He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren and working on his Apple computers. Hampton and Dena moved in 2021 to the Houston, TX area.

A gathering to Celebrate Hampton's Life will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, 1:00pm - 3:00 pm at the VFW #6008 Hall, 725 Sun Valley Blvd., Hewitt TX. Come and enjoy Hampton's favorite food, Bush's Chicken Tenders, and share stories.

A Committal Service will be held at the National Veterans Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston, TX 77038.
