Melvin D. Terry Jr., 75 years old, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14th, 2022, in Temple, TX.

Melvin was born August 10, 1946, in Borger, TX to Melvin D. Terry Sr. and Mattie Lou Terry (Richmond). Melvin was the oldest of two children. He married the love of his life, Tonya Kay Marsh, May 17th, 1969, in Odessa, TX. He was the first and only college graduate in his family and served proudly in United States Air Force. Melvin's career began at the Texas Highway Department in Odessa, TX, while earning his college degree from UTPB in the evenings. He then spent 20 years working for oilfield supply companies, ending his career as store manager for National Oilwell in Andrews, TX. Melvin was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. Melvin was faced with many challenges in life after he suffered a debilitating stroke, but always fought like a warrior. Through the kindness and love of his one true love, wife Tonya Terry, they faced those challenges head on and as a team and somehow always found a way to laugh, even in the darkest of times. Melvin loved his children and grandchildren endlessly and unconditionally and took great pride in their happiness and successes in life. He will forever be remembered for his sweet soul, loving smile, and kindness.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 53 years, Tonya Marsh Terry, children Anthony Terry and Lesley Terry, daughter in laws, Alma Terry and Elisha Terry, grandchildren Nathaniel Terry and Isabella (Bella) Terry, brother-in-law, Louis Marsh, aunt, Cindy McCain, and his nieces and nephews. Melvin was greeted in Heaven by his father, Melvin D. Terry Sr., mother, Mattie Lou Terry, brother Billy Fletcher Terry, and best friend and brother-in-law, Albert Ray Marsh.

The celebration of Melvin's life will be held July 16th, 2022, 11:00 am, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 90 E. 14th St., San Angelo, TX.
