John Phillip Ottesen, 32, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at his home in Roy.

John was born December 28, 1972, in Boise, Idaho. He was the youngest of four children of Richard Billings and Sandra Rogers Ottesen. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1991 and later from ITT Tech in computer technology. John married Katie Mecham on July 12, 1996 in Morgan, Utah. They were later divorced. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he was an Elder. At the time of his death, he was working for DHL Courier Services.

John loved camping, rock hounding and exploration. He always went out prepared with update equipment and technology. He was an accomplished photo and video producer. He presented his family and friends with many pictures, videos and DVD arrangements of music and memories. He loved his family very much and took special interest with his nieces and nephews. He was always their "favorite uncle". We loved him greatly and unconditionally. He will be sorely missed but forever remembered.

Surviving are his parents, Richard B. and Sandra Ottesen, North Ogden; two brothers, Scott Ottesen, Salt Lake City; Jeffery (Alecia) Ottesen, Puyallup, WA; and one sister, Becky (David) Larsen, North Ogden.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Emil and Mildred Ottesen, Norma Rogers and nephew, Thomas A. Larsen.
