In Memory

Julie Preece (Johnson)

Julie Ann Johnson, our caring and loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and friend, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Layton, Utah on the morning of March 10, 2012. She was 52 years young. She has completed her time here on earth and has gone on to continue her work on the other side with departed loved ones. Julie was born on April 15, 1959 in Ogden, Utah as the fourth daughter to Bob O. Preece and Kathryn Ann Wilson.

She grew up in the Ogden area attending Grandview Elementary, Mount Ogden Jr. High and graduated from Ogden High School in 1977. She soon met her eternal companion, Alan Ray Johnson, while working at Scott USA at the Clearfield Freeport Center. They knew they were "meant to be" the moment they met. When they were engaged in the summer of 1978, he gave her a necklace that said, "Taken," and she proudly wore it throughout her life. They were married on November 16, 1978 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Julie was an amazing homemaker for her husband and four wonderful children and loved them unconditionally her whole life. She created a beautiful home and made it a place of warmth and comfort. Her famiy meant everythihg to her. Julie was the creative and talented one of the family. She was incredible at crafting, scrapbooking, cooking, painting and decorating. She had the magic touch of making holidays and birthdays a special and memorable experience for her family. Julie loved to travel with her husband and family. Her favorite places were Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and the Bahamas. She enjoyed shopping and could regularly be found looking for a new outfit to spice up her day. She will be remembered for her gas station runs for a Diet Coke and Hot Tamales.

Julie was best friends with her mother Kathy and missed her deeply when she passed away in 2006. We feel peace and comfort knowing they are reunited. Julie was an active member of the LDS Church and served in many callings including Primary President and in the Relief Society Presidency. She had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and loved the Savior. She was a wonderful example of a cheerful spirit and a giving heart. Julie will be dearly missed by her family, including her furry best friend, "Poochie."

She is survived by her husband Alan of 34 years; four children Tyler (Breann) Alan Johnson; Lindsay (Nicholas) Leigh Williams; Vanessa (Nicholas) Ann Stone; Cali Elizabeth Johnson and future son-in-law Adam Bunting; her grandson Boston Nicholas Williams; her father Bob O. Preece and three sisters: Deborah Sproviero, Pamela Ostler, and Cyndi Behm.
