Steven "Steve" Senzig class of 1965
"Obiturarys later, for now, here is the letter I sent his class of 1965." Rod Ellis
"It is my sad obligation to let you know that we have lost another classmate.......Steve Senzig. I got an email from Steve's wife, Julie, that Steve passed away in his sleep last night (Monday, November 3, 2025). Today has been quite a shock to me because I had been on the phone and emailing Steve for a week ending last Thursday. We were working on possibly publishing his Vietnam Memoir.
"A Medic in Steve’s Company emailed me to make contact with Steve. The medic is writing a book about C Company in “Nam” and our Alumni Site came up when he googled Senzig. I don’t know if you realized everything Steve went through, but he came back decorated for bravery, valor and every other combat medal…and the only one of three in his company that came back without a purple heart. And PTSD wasn’t considered a wound. His memoir was a healing process to get all the nightmares out of his head. He and his family suffered greatly.
"Through it all, Steve managed to be a family man. He and Julie raised 5 kids, I think. We got to meet his fine eldest son, Gio, at our 50th reunion. I was always amazed at how smart and introspective Steve was. To himself, in high school, a science genius (and saved lives from a gas explosion as a Chemistry assistant), he always had ideas and way ahead of his time. I saw him several times in the early 70’s and all he talked about was computers (Bill Gates would have been in grade school then).
"Well, I wanted you to know. And if you are so inclined, write a note to Julie and family. You can send email to me, I’ll pass it on. I’ll try to keep you informed."
Additional information will added as received.
