Dr. Kerry J. Byrnes

Kerry J. Byrnes passed away on March 24, 2023 at the age of 77 following a brief illness.  He grew up near E. Lansing, MI and received his BA in Sociology and an MA in Communication from Michigan State University, and his Ph.D. in Rural Sociology from Iowa State University.  Over his 40+ year career, he worked mostly in support of USAID assistance to developing countries.

He was the son of Dr. Francis C. & Ethel B. (Overholt) Byrnes. He is survived by his wife (Sonia), his brother (Kevin) and his wife (Joan), his sister (Kathryn) and her husband (Jim), his son (Shannon) and his wife (Jeannine), his grandson (Braden) and his step-grandson (Matthew).

Visitation will be held April 3, at 10:30 a.m. until a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at the Money & King Funeral Home, located at 171 Maple Ave. W, Vienna, VA 22180.
