Paul F. Fernald

OKLAHOMA CITY
Paul was received into heaven on June 11, 2019. His life will be celebrated on Thursday, June 20, 2019, 2 p.m. at Church of the Servant, 14343 N. MacArthur, OKC. Paul was born on June 12, 1940, in Bartlesville, OK. He was a proud graduate of Harding High School at which he was the Senior Class President and played on the football and golf teams; Oklahoma State University, where he was President of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity; and the University of Oklahoma College of Law before serving in the U.S. Army and beginning his legal career. He was a 53-year member of the Oklahoma Bar Association. During these years, he mentored generations of lawyers in the civilized practice of law. He loved watching any sporting event, especially his beloved Cowboys, with his family. Paul was an avid reader and a published author. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He married Julie Huffman in 1963 and raised their three children. Julie preceded Paul in death in 2004. Paul met Millie Sahmaunt and they married in 2008. Paul is survived by wife, Millie, of the home; children, Trey and Ariel Fernald, Stanton and Sylvia Fernald, and Rene' and Craig Cowles; six grandchildren and Millie's family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Whiz Kids Oklahoma, Cobb Lecture Series Fund at the OSU Foundation or the Haven Ministry at New Covenant Christian Church.
