Oklahoma City - Robert Dale Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was born on April 14, 1941, in Oklahoma City to Buell and Doris (Haugh) Davis and passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years.

Robert Dale grew up in Oklahoma City, graduating from Harding High School in 1959. He was a 3-sport athlete, earning All State in 2. He was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in 1959 following high school and played in the organization. He was then drafted into the United States Army where he served in Hawaii and played football and baseball on the All Army teams. Following his military service, Robert Dale played football for the Saskatchewan Rough Riders of the Canadian Football League.

Robert Dale (Bob) returned to Oklahoma City after his military and athletic careers. He attended college at Central State College earning a Bachelor's degree in Government and English. His love of sports continued by playing softball for many years. In fact it was at a softball game that he met DeAnn Pryor. They were married in January, 1968.

After graduating from college, Robert Dale (Bob) began a teaching and coaching career that would span over 35 years and four states. As a head football coach, he achieved a record of 153-99-1. Over the course of his head coaching career, Coach Davis never coached a game that either Richard or Chad and were not with him on the sideline and Ashley and DeAnn were usually in the stands. His family all came together for Friday night football!

Coach Davis spent his retirement years attending grandkids' sporting events, where his legacy continues.

Survivors include his wife DeAnn Davis and children Son Richard and Chad Davis and Daughter Dr. Ashley Davis

Siblings, Barbara Foerster, Tommy Davis and Eddie Davis.
