Amy C. Rothermel, 54, of West Lawn, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. She was born in Reading to Eleanor M. (Bieber) Rothermel of Wyomissing, and the late Jacob C. Rothermel Sr. She graduated from Villanova University in 1993 and from Widener University Commonwealth Law School with her Juris Doctorate in 1997. A respected attorney in good regard, Amy previously worked as an Assistant District Attorney, served as the Program Director of the Paralegal Program and Criminal Justice Institute at Berks Technical Institute, and held her own practice from 2016 through 2020. Most recently, Amy served as a Judicial Law Clerk. She was passionate and unafraid to take charge of any situation. Known for her colorful sense of humor, Amy was blessed to have many close friendships. She especially treasured the maternal, caring relationship she shared with Anna and Benjamin Mowrer, the children of her heart. In addition to her mother, Eleanor, Amy is survived by her siblings: Jacob C. Rothermel, husband of Jennifer, of Coudersport; Briana Kramer of Kutztown; Keene Kramer, husband of Teresa, of Fleetwood; and Judy Bond of Topton; her aunts Barbara Biscanti, widow of John, of Wyomissing, and Victoria Bieber, widow of Carl, of Kutztown; and her nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. She will be greatly missed by her cat, Milo. She was predeceased by her feline companion, Leo.
