Frank P. Garner, 85, of Olney, IL, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2026 at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, IL.

Frank was born October 16, 1940 in Richland County, IL to parents, Frank and Louise (Preston) Garner. He married Joan E. Jennings on May 28, 1960, she survives.

Frank worked for Illini Builders after high school and then went to work at CIPS/Ameren where he spent 36 years. He started out as a meter reader and then became a journey lineman and ended his career as a utility foreman.

He enjoyed vacationing to Florida during the wintertime, but he also took pleasure in traveling throughout the United States. He was an outdoor person who enjoyed golfing at the Richland Country Club, where he could socialize with his friends.

Frank had an outgoing personality and enjoyed time spent with his family, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends.

He was a member of the Olney Immanuel Church and the Olney Elks.

Frank is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan Garner of Olney; son, Greg Garner and wife Tina of Olney; grandchildren, Sam (Kat) Garner of Boise, ID; Sara Garner of New Orleans, LA; Max Garner of New Orleans, LA; Brianna (Caleb) Garner of Olney; Kirsten (Caleb) Piercefield of Olney; and Megan (Jacob) Burgener of Olney, Abigail and Charlie of Western Springs, IL; great grandchildren, Evalynn, Jayce, Isabelle, Charlotte, Fern, Isaiah and Rhyse; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Paula) Jennings of Springfield and Jack Jennings of Olney.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Louise Garner; son, Gary Garner; and sister-in-law, Bev Jennings.

Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.

Visitation will be held for family and friends on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home, Olney.

Interment will follow at Haven Hill Memorial Gardens.
